One of the early goals for this movement was to put Raleigh and The Triangle in the national conversation for a Major League Baseball expansion team. Within hours of launch, that conversation had begun. Now our job as a community is to keep it going. Here are some of the top tweets so far.
There’s grassroots efforts to make Raleigh a top contender for a new MLB team! It’s called @MLBRaleigh. The campaign even has some renderings where a stadium could be built in Oak City. #Raleigh #Basebal #MLB #MLBRaleigh #ABC11 @MLB @RaleighGov pic.twitter.com/ZAxjuddSbO

What about an ownership group of the Goodnight’s and the Goodman’s? Would be an incredible combo of capital, baseball knowledge, and great community folks. https://t.co/1YsTzqgQz3

.@jjcoop36 and I were just discussing the viability of having an MLB team in Raleigh and while keeping a Triple-A team in Durham. Closest analogy we could come up with is Seattle and Tacoma, although SeaTac metro is significantly larger https://t.co/fvRaLGyJmU

Great conversation today learning more about passionate baseball fans in North Carolina and the potential of one day becoming an expansion market for @MLB. Charlotte and Raleigh are definitely serious possibilities. Check out the great work of @MLBRaleigh! https://t.co/SBeajUKBxE

This site is definitely thorough, and they make a good case. I’m a Charlotte native who’s also spent time living in Raleigh. I wouldn’t mind a team in either city. https://t.co/kZ1HcoeDcj

Of the major sports, an MLB team is the best fit for Raleigh. Lot’s of Mudcat, Bulls, college ball enthusiasts. Need the ballpark downtown to attract the masses. Call em the Oak City Acorns and you’ll get a nutty fanbase. For now ill cheer for @HSSalamanders @MLBRaleigh

I’ve never seriously considered an MLB team in Raleigh, just because I always figured it would be Charlotte if one came to NC… But this would be phenomenal. https://t.co/02UDs6BJDH

Came across the @MLBRaleigh account. The 919 would be a great place for a new MLB team. #RaleighOnDeck

I’m all in on #MLBexpansion. 32 teams makes a lot of sense. And based solely on website content and merchandise, gotta give early leads to both @PDXDiamondProj and @MLBRaleigh
